SOS Meals on Wheels

I've been volunteering in the kitchen for a few months, once a week. This organization is great! I always enjoy the smiling faces of the other workers and volunteers at Meals on Wheels in San Leandro! Mary, the volunteer coordinator, and all the people I have met are so friendly that it's a pleasure to see them. The atmosphere in the kitchen/prep area is upbeat and fast-paced as we assemble meals for local seniors. I am happy to notice that the meals are well balanced and appetizing. If you have been looking for a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity, or have been considering applying for their service, I whole-heartedly recommend Meals on Wheels in San Leandro.

If you're looking for somewhere to volunteer and give back to your community, look no further! I have helped out as a delivery driver for SOS Meals on Wheels San Leandro for a few months now. Every time I come to help I'm greeted with a smile by some of the most genuine people I've had the pleasure of meeting. Everything is extremely organized, albeit a bit outdated. I've never had an issue and do not foresee anything happening anytime soon. I love how flexible they can be with busy schedules, and how understanding they are when you are unable to offer your help. This is good people and a good experience. If you need volunteer hours or just want to help your community, I highly recommend putting this in your rotation.

Volunteering at Meals on Wheels is one of the most fulfilling things I've done. Some of the stories and circumstances of the people we're helping are heartbreaking, but amazingly most stay positive. If you have a few free hours a week, definitely consider helping out. It will probably change you.
