Saint Anthony's Padua Dining Room

About the initiative

St. Anthony’s Padua Dining Room is the largest “soup-kitchen” between San Francisco and San Jose and the only organization that provides food daily throughout the year. The Dining Room’s provides warm, nutritious meals in a social and friendly atmosphere to alleviate hunger and malnutrition. We serve all without regard to age, sex, race, religious beliefs, national origin, or disabilities.

We serve an average of 500 meals a day.  Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas are the busiest days of the year for the Padua Dining Room when our patronage typically doubles. We serve approximately 1,000 meals on each holiday.

In addition, we provide hot meals daily to local organizations: Maple Street Shelter and the Sequoia Children’s Center – organizations which rely on the Padua Dining Room to supply their clients with much-needed healthy meals. On Sundays, we provide a bag lunches through for SOS (Sandwiches on Sunday) at the Fair Oaks Community Center at 2500 Middlefield Road in Redwood City.

Tired but happy from a day of volunteering at dining hall of St Anthony of Padua in RWC. I must've stemmed 50 lbs of green onions!

I chop vegetables from 8am until 11am once a week. It allows me to give back to the community on a schedule that fits my lifestyle. My coworkers are nice and interesting people.

I love going every year to help decorate the dining room for Christmas.
