Burrito Project SF was founded in 2016 by Jimmy Ryan. A native of Los Angeles, Jimmy started as a volunteer at Burrito Project LA. When he moved to San Francisco, he started to volunteer at Martin de Porres House of Hospitality on a weekly basis. With the support of the community at Martin's, Burrito Project SF was launched. Since then Burrito Project SF has grown and is organized by a committee each month. Burrito Project SF is part of a national movement to provide a simple meal to improve the lives of people living in hunger or with housing insecurity. There are Burrito Projects located throughout North America including Los Angeles, Orange County, Oakland, Salt Lake City, and others.
