I went on a tour recently in San Jose and was very impressed with the program. Everything was incredibly organized and well thought out. All aspects of the recovery process was/is taken care of. The community outreach is amazing!

Kindest staff, strong program, light in dark times for people who want + need help. City Team has given life back to people I love most and many I have been fortunate enough to meet. Thank you to all the staff who continue to show up, the people who go through the program, and the invitation to the public and wider community to be part of this miracle making program!

I and my wife have been volunteering for over 5 years at Cityteam - Men's Kitchen. We have been blessed working in the kitchen

Kitchen Volunteer

You walk in and wait till the head of the kitchen calls you in. You put on a net cap, apron, and gloves and you do what the head wants you to do whether that's chopping foods up, opening packages or sorting foods. Some afternoon's you also get to serve the homeless, handing plates out etc. You do your designated job(s) with 1 or more people until your designated time's up.

Volunteer

Volunteering of course isn't paid work, but seeing happy and fed people who otherwise don't even have the time to go out and buy food for their children was worth no pay. I learned I excelled in this type of environment, the manager was a great guy, and doing the work there with friends and learning about the people who came to volunteer was a ripening experience. The hardest part was cutting onions.
